DESIGNERS – RiRa Objects

DESIGNERS

SABINE MARCELIS

Sabine Marcelis is a Rotterdam-based designer whose “magical moments within materiality and manufacturing processes” have led to collaborations with the likes of Isabel Marant and Céline, for whom she made her famous edible-looking Candy Cube store fixtures.

VINCENT DE RIJK

Vincent de Rijk is the Rotterdam-based enigma whose mastery of the techniques of model making have found him favour among architects including Rem Koolhaas, whose OMA firm has used Vincent’s new material applications for the Prada store in New York and many other projects.

MULLER VAN SEVEREN

Muller Van Severen is the Belgian married Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen. From the studio next to their home in Ghent, they create furniture and objects with a rare ingenuity that breathes new life into colours, forms and materials. They have lent their enquiring lens to fashion brands from COS to Hermès.

NIENKE SIKKEMA

Whether rolling glass, dripping glass or sculpting with it, Nienke Sikkema loves to explore all the possibilities of her chosen material. Working out of the Oude Horn glassworks established by the Dutch Master of glassblowing Bernard Heesen in 1986, Sikkema has pioneered a 21st century practice that marries technical prowess with her playful eye for colour and shape.

JONAS LUTZ

Having created door handles for Isabel Marant and chairs for Philo-era Céline, Jonas Lutz is a
designer with deep-seated respect for natural materials, integrity and functionality. Born in
Finland but based in Rotterdam, his creations often take their cue from Nordic furniture
traditions, with a playful nod to Dutch design.

SUDDEN OBJECT

Sudden Object was founded by three friends: MacAulay Brown, Camille Filbien and Felix Keser. Macaulay and Camille spend their work hours at renowned architectural office OMA, collaborating with clients like Loewe and Jacquemus. Through Sudden Object, the trio teams up to design and craft unexpected objects. For RiRa they created three exclusive wine sets.
